Chapter 6 - The Hunt for Lily

Panic erupted in the living room the moment Claire revealed her horrifying hostage plot.

Ethan lunged at his wife, screaming at the top of his lungs, demanding to know where his daughter was.

My security chief instantly intercepted Ethan, holding him back so he wouldn't do something that would get him arrested.

“If you touch me, Ethan, the men holding Lily have strict instructions to disappear with her forever,” Claire warned frantically.

I forced myself to remain completely calm, locking away my terrifying emotions to focus purely on strategy.

“You are playing an incredibly dangerous game, Claire, one that you absolutely cannot win,” I told her with deadly precision.

She laughed hysterically, clutching her expensive designer purse tightly against her chest.

“Wire the ten million dollars to my offshore account, and I will text you the address,” she demanded.

I nodded slowly, pulling my encrypted cell phone from my pocket and pretending to access my banking application.

Instead, I sent a silent, emergency distress signal to my entire corporate intelligence network.

Within seconds, fifty of the best private investigators in the country began tracking Claire’s digital footprint.

“The transfer takes a few minutes to process internationally,” I lied smoothly, buying my team precious time.

Ethan was weeping openly on the sofa, finally realizing that the woman he married was an absolute monster.

My phone vibrated twice, signaling that my tech team had successfully pinpointed the IP address of the live video feed.

The signal was broadcasting from a private, heavily guarded airstrip located thirty miles outside the city limits.

“The money is sent, Claire,” I announced, staring deeply into her greedy, panicked eyes.

She quickly checked her phone, but before she could realize the accounts were empty, my security team moved in.

Two massive agents grabbed Claire by the arms, restraining her completely and taking her phone.

“We are going to that airstrip right now, and if my granddaughter is hurt, you will beg for prison,” I whispered.

We threw Claire into the back of my armored SUV and sped toward the private airfield.

We violently breached the gates and surrounded a sleek private jet sitting idly on the tarmac.

My armed agents kicked open the cabin door and stormed the luxurious interior of the aircraft.

I rushed inside, desperately searching the leather seats for my sweet, innocent granddaughter.

But Claire just smiled her wicked smile, because the plane was completely empty, and Lily was nowhere to be found.
