Chapter 8 - The Chaos

Lauren screamed in absolute panic as the heavy bedroom doors violently slammed shut and automatically locked.
James had intentionally triggered a highly classified military self-destruct sequence built into the hardware.
"What did you just do?!" Greg roared, desperately trying to smash the laptop with his heavy knife.
The countdown timer hit zero, and the laptop exploded with a massive, blinding flash of pure white light.
The intense flashbang completely blinded and deafened everyone standing in the center of the room.
James moved with lethal speed, aggressively tackling the completely disoriented Greg to the floor.
I burst out of the panic room, carrying Emma tightly with one arm while wielding the heavy flashlight.
Lauren violently rubbed her burning eyes and desperately swung her pistol toward my direction.
She wildly lunged forward, trying to aggressively snatch my crying baby right out of my arms.
"Give her to me!" Lauren shrieked like an absolute, terrifying maniac.
I felt a fierce, uncontrollable surge of maternal adrenaline violently flood my entire system.
I swung the heavy metal flashlight with absolutely every single ounce of strength I possessed.
The solid metal connected brutally with Lauren's jaw, sending her crashing heavily into the wooden dresser.
She slumped entirely unconscious onto the floor, her pistol sliding harmlessly away under the bed.
James aggressively disarmed Greg and locked him in a brutal, inescapable military chokehold.
Suddenly, bright red and blue lights violently illuminated the entire neighborhood through the shattered windows.
James had triggered a silent federal distress beacon the moment he typed in the fake password.
Dozens of heavily armored tactical police officers aggressively kicked down our ruined front door.

But Greg desperately pulled a hidden backup knife and brutally slashed James across the arm.
He broke completely free and violently grabbed my mother by her hair, dragging her toward the broken window.
