Chapter 10 - The Sterling Legacy

The warm, golden light of the setting sun filled the living room as I stared at the glowing screen of my phone.

I hesitated for a moment, enjoying the absolute peace of the quiet mansion before opening the secure message.

The text contained a single, highly classified DNA report generated by an anonymous European laboratory.

I scanned the complex medical terminology, my eyes widening in sheer, unadulterated horror as I read the final conclusion.

Arthur walked into the room, holding two glasses of sparkling champagne, and noticed the terrifying expression on my face.

"What is it, Vivian?" he asked, instantly setting the glasses down and rushing to my side.

I handed him the phone, my hands trembling violently as the impossible truth shattered our perfect, peaceful reality.

The DNA report clearly proved that Arthur was not the only biological heir to the massive Sterling fortune.

He had an identical twin brother who had been secretly kept hidden in a high-security psychiatric facility since birth.

"This... this cannot be possible," Arthur whispered, repeating the exact same words the doctor had spoken in the delivery room months ago.

The message included a recent photograph of a man who looked exactly like Arthur, standing outside the gates of a destroyed asylum.

The chilling text at the bottom of the photograph simply read, "I heard I have a new nephew, and I am coming to collect my half of the family."

I looked at Arthur, realizing that the horrific nightmare of corporate bloodlines and family secrets was far from over.

We had successfully defeated the Vance empire, but we were now facing an entirely new, incredibly dangerous threat from within his own family.

Arthur pulled me tightly against his chest, swearing that he would burn the entire world down before he let anyone touch me or Leo.

We stood together in the fading light, completely prepared to fight whatever darkness was coming for us next.

I was no longer the weak, terrified woman who had driven herself to the hospital in agonizing pain.

I was Vivian Sterling, a brilliant auditor, a fierce mother, and I was absolutely ready for war.

The grand grandfather clock in the hallway chimed loudly, signaling the end of the day.

Suddenly, the massive front doors of the mansion slowly creaked open, and the sound of heavy, deliberate footsteps echoed through the silent foyer.
