Chapter 3 - The Corrupted Sanctuary

The ambulance tore through the city streets, throwing me against the metal walls with every sharp turn.

My daughter’s breathing grew terrifyingly shallow, and the heart monitor attached to her chest beeped in a frantic, irregular rhythm.

The paramedics pushed her stretcher through the emergency room doors the second we arrived, shouting medical codes I didn't understand.

I tried to follow them, but a heavy hand clamped down hard on my shoulder and pulled me backward.

A tall man wearing a sharp gray suit and a completely emotionless expression blocked my path.

He flashed a shiny metal badge and introduced himself as a senior investigator for Child Protective Services.

I begged him to let me see my baby, explaining that my husband had just been arrested for trying to kill her.

The man shook his head slowly and handed me a thick, yellow manila folder.

He claimed the hospital had received an anonymous tip with overwhelming evidence that I was the one abusing my daughter.

I opened the folder and gasped at the highly forged medical documents bearing my forged signature.

The papers falsely proved that I had a long history of severe psychiatric breakdowns and a documented obsession with medical sedatives.

My husband had flawlessly framed me for his own horrific crimes, planning this setup for months.

The CPS worker coldly informed me that I was being stripped of all parental rights effective immediately.

He snapped his fingers, and two large security guards stepped out from the shadows to escort me off the property.

I looked down the long, sterile hallway and saw a familiar woman standing right outside my daughter's trauma room.

It was my husband's mother, holding a set of legal guardianship papers and smiling directly at me.
