"FBI! Drop your weapons instantly!" a commanding voice echoed through the smoke.
The federal agents had finally tracked Marcus's earlier distress signal to the underground facility.
A fierce but brief firefight ensued, ending with the swift surrender of Victor's blinded mercenaries.
The ventilation system kicked into overdrive, slowly clearing the thick smoke from the room.

Emily handed over the hard drive containing all the evidence of Daniel's and Victor's monumental crimes.
"You did a brave thing tonight, Ms. Chang," the agent said with a respectful nod.
Emily watched as they dragged the corrupt men out of the vault and up the stairs to justice.
