Chapter 7 - The Broadcast

Valeria aimed the silver handgun directly at Dominic’s chest, her hand shaking with uncontrolled fury.
She realized he was permanently dismantling the very empire she had just stolen from Lucian.
"Cut the feed right now!" Valeria screamed at the terrified cameraman standing near the monitors.
The cameraman scrambled to pull the heavy black power cables from the wall, but he was too slow.
Dominic continued speaking loudly, detailing the locations of the secret island prisons mentioned in the ledger.
He exposed the names of corrupt judges, police captains, and politicians who were on the family payroll.
He was systematically burning his entire cursed legacy to the ground so no one could ever claim it again.
Valeria finally lost her temper and pulled the trigger.
The gunshot echoed deafeningly through the acoustic studio, shattering a massive studio light above Dominic’s head.
Dominic threw himself sideways out of the leather chair just as a second bullet tore through the upholstery.
He rolled across the slick studio floor, taking cover behind a heavy metal mixing desk.
Valeria’s guards rushed forward, firing their weapons blindly into the expensive broadcasting equipment.
Sparks rained down from the ceiling as servers and monitors exploded from the gunfire.
Dominic knew he was hopelessly outgunned and trapped on the top floor of a skyscraper.
He noticed a heavy fire extinguisher mounted on the wall directly behind the mixing desk.
He grabbed the red cylinder, pulled the safety pin, and hurled it forcefully toward the guards.
He snatched a loose microphone stand from the floor and threw it like a spear at the flying extinguisher.
The heavy metal base of the stand struck the pressurized cylinder perfectly in mid-air.
A massive explosion of thick, blinding white chemical foam instantly filled the entire studio.
The guards began coughing violently, completely unable to see anything in the dense chemical cloud.
Dominic used the distraction to sprint toward the studio’s heavy glass window overlooking the city.
He picked up a heavy broadcast camera and smashed it repeatedly against the reinforced glass until it cracked.
He kicked the weakened pane with both feet, shattering the window entirely.
May you like
He leaped out into the freezing morning air, grabbing the thick steel cable of the window washer’s platform suspended outside.
He slid down the cable, tearing the skin from his palms, just as Valeria leaned out the broken window and aimed her gun directly at his head.
