Chapter 3 - The Dark Warning

Uncle Arthur stood on my front lawn, wiping a streak of blood from his forehead.
He was the only family member who had ever supported my crazy business ideas when I was younger.
However, he was exiled from the family ten years ago after a massive corporate embezzlement scandal.
I rushed out the front double doors, signaling for my armed security guards to lower their weapons.
Arthur looked exhausted, wearing a rumpled suit that had clearly seen better days.
He grabbed my shoulders with trembling hands the moment I reached him.
He told me that he had just been released from prison on a technicality.
He hadn't come here to ask for money or a place to stay.
He came to warn me that my perfect brothers were actively plotting to destroy my public image tonight.
Arthur explained that James had used his powerful law firm to fabricate evidence of extreme fraud within my company.
They were planning to leak the forged documents to the press during my lavish Thanksgiving dinner.
Their goal was to trigger a massive federal investigation that would freeze my corporate assets indefinitely.
I felt a cold sweat break out on the back of my neck.
If the press published those fabricated documents, my investors would pull their funding immediately.
I asked Arthur how he knew such specific, highly confidential details about my brothers.
Arthur smiled bitterly and revealed that James had initially tried to hire him to plant the fake evidence in my mansion.
I pulled out my phone to call my corporate crisis management team.
Before I could even dial the number, a breaking news alert flashed across my screen.
