The tactical flashbang detonated with a blinding white light and a deafening crack.
Killeran closed his eyes just in time to safely avoid the worst of the explosive blast.
Silas screamed in absolute pain and dropped his weapon to clutch his burning eyes.
Killeran lunged forward instantly and tackled the rogue agent hard to the ground.

He quickly freed her terrified brother from his heavy, painful restraints.

She was the hidden daughter of the legendary hitman who used to work for Killeran's father.
She had been strictly trained in lethal combat and espionage since she was a little girl.
She took the lowly job as a maid to hide permanently from the enemies her father had made.
Killeran stared in awe at the plain woman he had foolishly ignored for three years.
He realized she was truly the most dangerous and brilliant person he had ever met.
He handed her a loaded spare pistol directly from his tactical vest.
Mave checked the magazine and racked the slide with perfect professional ease.
They suddenly heard the loud screech of heavy tires directly outside the warehouse.
Dozens of rogue tactical agents were pouring rapidly out of armored transport trucks.
Silas had called for massive government reinforcements just before the door was breached.
Killeran and Mave grabbed Rowan and ran desperately toward the back exit of the warehouse.
The heavy metal doors were completely welded shut from the outside.
They were entirely trapped inside the building with a small army closing in fast.
Bullets began to tear violently through the thin metal walls of the warehouse.
