Chapter 4 - The Broken Window
Killeran sprinted down the dark hallway using only his perfect memory of the house.
His heart pounded furiously against his ribs with every single desperate step.
He reached the guest bedroom and kicked the heavy wooden door wide open.
The freezing winter wind howled loudly through a massive hole in the shattered window.
The bed was completely empty and the white sheets were stained with fresh blood.
Killeran roared in absolute fury and aimed his tactical flashlight around the room.
He saw Silas standing by the broken window with a truly wicked smile.
Silas was holding a bloody hunting knife loosely in his right hand.
Killeran fired three rapid shots directly at his treacherous underboss.
Silas dove behind a heavy mahogany dresser and laughed maliciously in the dark.
He yelled that the Rossi family was paying him ten million dollars for the girl.
Silas claimed Mave was the ultimate key to destroying Killeran's entire empire.
Killeran ducked quickly behind the bed as heavy bullets tore through the drywall above his head.
He realized Silas had distracted him just long enough for his men to kidnap Mave.
Killeran reloaded his weapon perfectly and aggressively charged the wooden dresser.
Silas was already gone, having escaped quickly down a tactical rope hanging from the window.
Killeran looked down at the snowy grounds and saw a black van speeding rapidly away.
He ran out of the bedroom and rushed to his hidden weapons armory in the basement.
He geared up entirely with heavy body armor and a fully loaded assault rifle.
He knew exactly where Silas would take a valuable hostage to negotiate a trade.
The abandoned shipyard on the edge of the Boston harbor was Silas's favorite territory.
Killeran bypassed his rigged car and took a heavily armored motorcycle from the vault.
He roared out of the estate gates like a demon seeking pure, unfiltered vengeance.
The freezing snow whipped harshly against his face as he drove toward the dark harbor.
His encrypted earpiece crackled with a sudden, highly unexpected incoming transmission.
It was Mave's voice, whispering frantically over the secure radio frequency.

She told Killeran that Silas was absolutely not working for the Rossi family.
Silas had just arrogantly admitted he was an undercover federal agent.
