Chapter 3 - The Hidden Camera

Dominic did not argue, but he slammed the front door so hard the crystal chandeliers rattled.
Adrian immediately went to his private study and locked the heavy oak doors behind him.
He pulled a hidden security tablet from behind a row of leather-bound books on the shelf.
He had secretly installed micro-cameras in the mansion's corridors three years ago, before his mind started slipping.
He needed to see exactly what Dominic was doing when he thought no one was watching.
Adrian scrolled back through the security footage from the previous night.
He watched the black-and-white video of Dominic walking down the hallway carrying the poisoned tea.
But then, something entirely unexpected caught Adrian's attention.
A few minutes after Dominic passed, another figure slipped silently out of the shadows.
It was Rosa.
The timid housekeeper moved with the lethal, silent grace of a trained operative.
She paused outside Adrian's bedroom door, listened closely, and then quickly picked the lock to Dominic's private office.
Adrian stared at the screen in absolute disbelief.
The woman who cleaned his floors was breaking into a mafia boss's secure office with professional ease.
Adrian left the study and walked directly to the servant's quarters in the basement.
He found Rosa folding laundry in the small, windowless utility room.
He closed the door behind him and locked the deadbolt with a loud click.
Rosa froze, dropping a white towel into the laundry basket.
"Who do you really work for, Rosa?" Adrian asked, his voice echoing in the small room.
Rosa slowly turned around, her timid posture completely disappearing.
She reached her hand behind the laundry basket, clearly grasping a hidden weapon.

"I work for my daughter," Rosa answered, her eyes turning cold and dangerous.
"And if you try to stop me from killing your brother, I will kill you too."
