Chapter 9 - The Hostage Situation

The entire living room erupted into sheer panic as Calvin aimed the loaded handgun directly at Judge Hastings.
Calvin screamed that he was not going to let a dead man steal the massive fortune he had worked so hard to acquire.
Tabitha gasped in absolute horror, completely backing away from the man she thought was just a brilliant white-collar criminal.
My brother Kyle jumped up from his armchair, desperately begging Calvin to put the dangerous weapon down before he hurt someone.
Calvin wildly pointed the gun at Kyle, ordering him to sit back down and shut his mouth immediately.
He demanded that the judge officially validate his property transfer document right now, completely ignoring the garden letter.
Ms. Penelope remained incredibly calm, staring directly down the barrel of Calvin's shaking, terrified weapon.
She boldly informed him that threatening a federal judge would absolutely guarantee him a life sentence in a maximum-security prison.
Calvin laughed manically, stating that he would simply kill all of us and claim it was a tragic, violent home invasion.
He pointed the gun squarely at my chest, his finger tightening dangerously on the cold metal trigger.
I refused to look away, fiercely telling him that he was nothing but a pathetic coward who hid behind stolen money.
Tabitha suddenly lunged at Calvin, trying to desperately grab the weapon to save her own miserable life.
Calvin violently shoved her to the hardwood floor, entirely losing his balance for a brief, critical fraction of a second.
Before he could regain his footing, the heavy oak front doors of the estate burst completely and violently open.
A dozen heavily armed SWAT officers stormed into the grand living room, aiming their assault rifles directly at Calvin.
Ms. Penelope smiled coldly, revealing that she had quietly pressed a silent panic button hidden in her briefcase five minutes ago.
The tactical commander aggressively screamed for Calvin to drop the weapon and drop to his knees immediately.
Calvin looked around at the dozen laser sights completely covering his chest, realizing his entire empire was officially over.
He slowly lowered the handgun to the floor, falling to his knees and openly sobbing like a broken, pathetic child.
The police aggressively swarmed him, forcefully placing him and Tabitha in heavy steel handcuffs as they read them their rights.

As they dragged him away, Judge Hastings finally picked up the garden letter to officially finish reading the incredible addendum.
The judge cleared his throat, announcing that he was now ready to legally reveal the absolute final fate of the entire estate.
