Chapter 5 - The Return

Elena knew she was walking directly into a deadly trap, but she had absolutely no other choice.

She rode the stolen motorcycle back toward the massive, sprawling estate hidden in the hills.

The property was now heavily fortified by Sylvia's private mercenaries, who were actively patrolling the perimeter with flashlights.

Elena parked the bike a mile away and hiked through the dense, muddy forest to approach the house from the rear.

She climbed the heavy stone wall surrounding the garden, cutting her hands on the sharp rosebushes.

She used the sturdy trellis near the kitchen window to scale the side of the towering mansion.

Elena quietly slipped through an unlocked guest bedroom window on the second floor.

The mansion was eerily quiet, feeling more like a tomb than the vibrant home she used to work in.

She crept down the carpeted hallway and carefully pushed open the door to Victor's master suite.

Victor was lying motionless on the massive king-sized bed, completely paralyzed but fully conscious.

His eyes darted frantically toward Elena, silently pleading for her to help him.

"I am going to get you out of here, I promise," Elena whispered as she rushed to his side.

She tried to lift his heavy, unresponsive body, but it was physically impossible for her to move him alone.

She needed to find the antidote or at least a wheelchair to safely transport him out of the house.

Elena decided she had to secure baby Leo first before figuring out how to save Victor.

She sprinted down the hall toward the nursery, her heart pounding with fierce determination.

She burst into the colorful room, ready to grab the infant and run for her life.

The crib was completely empty, with the blue blankets thrown carelessly onto the floor.

A cold, sinister laugh echoed from the outdoor balcony connected to the nursery.

Sylvia was standing dangerously close to the edge of the stone railing, holding the crying baby entirely over the terrifying drop.
