Chapter 7 - The Enemy of My Enemy

Julian explained his plan quickly while the heavy rain pounded violently against the warehouse roof.
He had spent the last five years secretly tracking down all of Dr. Vale's illicit biological children.
"Vale does not just want a massive legacy, he wants absolute genetic control," Julian warned them.
"He discovered that Maddie possesses a highly rare genetic mutation that makes her immune to certain cellular decay."
Rachel felt a sickening knot twist deeply in her stomach at the terrifying medical implications.
"He wants to use her bone marrow to develop an experimental life-extension treatment for himself," Julian revealed darkly.
Grant stepped completely out of the shadows, aiming his gun directly at Julian's chest.
"Why should we trust a single word you say?" Grant demanded aggressively.
Julian did not flinch at the sight of the weapon pointed at his heart.
"Because I have the master security codes to Vale's private medical fortress, and you physically cannot get inside without me," Julian answered.
Rachel pushed Grant's gun down forcefully, making a desperate tactical decision.
"We will do exactly what you say, Julian, just get me to my daughter," Rachel agreed.
They piled quickly into Julian's heavily armored SUV and sped toward the elite billionaire district.
Julian handed them detailed blueprints of the massive, heavily fortified mansion.
"Maddie is currently being held in the underground surgical wing on the lowest level," Julian explained.
They parked the vehicle deep in the surrounding forest and hiked silently toward the high security perimeter.
Julian successfully bypassed the electrified fence using a stolen biometric scanner.
They sneaked quietly across the manicured lawn and approached the heavy steel service doors.
Suddenly, Grant completely stopped walking and pulled out his cell phone.

He dialed a number quickly and pressed the phone against his ear with a twisted smile.
"Hello, Father, I have the traitor Julian right outside your back door," Grant said loudly into the phone.
