Chapter 7 - The Bank Vault

Olivia completely ignored the terrifying text message on the smartwatch, maintaining her flawless facade of blind trust.
They left the motel under the cover of darkness and drove Sophie's battered sedan toward the towering financial district in the center of the city.
The private bank was completely deserted at three in the morning, guarded only by an automated security grid.
Mia confidently swiped her executive keycard at the side entrance, disabling the exterior cameras and unlocking the heavy glass doors.
She led Olivia and Sophie into the silent lobby and guided them toward the massive, steel-reinforced elevator that descended to the underground vault.
The elevator doors opened to reveal a cavernous subterranean room filled with rows of safety deposit boxes and a massive central safe.
Mia suddenly stopped walking, taking a swift step backward toward the elevator while reaching for a red emergency lockdown button on the wall.
She intended to trap Olivia and Sophie inside the airtight vault until Daniel arrived to finish the job.
But Olivia had anticipated the betrayal perfectly, having secretly slipped a heavy metal doorstop into the elevator's mechanical track.
When Mia smashed the red button, the heavy steel doors tried to close but jammed violently halfway down, triggering a localized system error.
Olivia lunged forward, shoving the completely stunned Mia into a smaller, steel-barred holding cell meant for secure asset viewing.
Olivia slammed the cell door shut, locking the traitorous maid of honor inside with a heavy mechanical click.
Mia screamed in furious panic, rattling the unbreakable steel bars as her deadly trap completely collapsed around her.

Suddenly, the secondary service elevator at the far end of the vault hummed to life, signaling that someone was coming down.
The metal doors parted, revealing Daniel and two heavily armed guards stepping into the underground room.
