Chapter 1 - The Impossible Name

The silence in the cabin was so absolute that Danielle could hear the low hum of the jet engines vibrating through the floorboards.
She stared at the boy in the frayed hoodie, her mind violently rejecting the words that had just left his mouth.
Fifteen years ago, she had buried a tiny, empty casket after a horrific hospital fire supposedly claimed the life of her firstborn son.
Yet here stood a teenager with her exact shade of piercing green eyes, holding her second child with a natural, protective grace.
"Who sent you?" she demanded, her voice trembling as maternal instinct clashed violently with the hardened paranoia of a ruthless billionaire.
Ethan stepped back, his calm demeanor completely shattering as he seemed to realize the massive magnitude of his mistake.
He looked down at the sleeping baby, then back up at the furious woman who was already signaling her private security team.
"I shouldn't have said anything," the boy whispered, gently placing the sleeping infant into the empty bassinet next to Danielle's seat.
Before Danielle could grab his arm, Ethan spun around and sprinted down the narrow aisle toward the rear of the aircraft.
"Stop him!" Danielle screamed, no longer caring about the startled gasps of the other first-class passengers awaking from their slumber.
Two heavily built bodyguards surged forward from the front row, throwing aside the velvet curtain separating the cabins.
Ethan dodged a beverage cart, his worn sneakers slipping slightly on the carpet as he scrambled frantically toward the emergency exit row.
Just as the largest bodyguard reached out to grab the boy's hoodie, a senior flight attendant abruptly shoved a metal serving tray into the aisle.
The guard tripped hard, crashing to the floor in a tangle of limbs and spilled coffee.
Danielle watched in absolute shock as the flight attendant grabbed Ethan by the shoulders and shoved him into the tiny rear lavatory.

Through the crack of the closing door, Danielle heard the flight attendant whisper a chilling warning.
"You fool, I told you they were on this flight."
