Chapter 6 - The Turning Point

The man in black tactical gear hit the hospital floor rolling.

My father immediately pivoted and aimed his weapon at the intruder's head.

The man threw his hands in the air and ripped off his dark face mask.

It was Captain Elias, my father's most trusted intelligence officer.

He quickly explained that he had repelled down from the roof to bypass the cartel's lockdown.

He tossed my father a hardwired military communication device that was immune to the signal jammers.

My father instantly ordered a full battalion of armed marines to storm the hospital lobby.

We heard the deafening roar of military transport trucks screeching to a halt outside the building.

Within ten minutes, the sounds of cartel gunfire were completely silenced by the overwhelming military force.

The siege was over, and the hospital was finally safe.

I collapsed onto the bed, shaking uncontrollably as my mother brought my crying son out of the bathroom.

I held my baby tightly against my chest, swearing that I would stop playing defense.

I looked at my parents and told them it was time to destroy Julian's entire life.

I used my secure laptop to log into my family's massive trust fund network.

I executed a hostile corporate takeover of Julian's logistics company, liquidating every single asset he owned.

I legally transferred all his shipping yards, warehouses, and contracts directly to federal authorities.

Julian was now completely bankrupt, exposed, and actively hunted by both the government and the cartel.

My phone rang, displaying an unknown, heavily encrypted international number.

I answered the call and heard Julian's desperate, ragged breathing on the other end.

He begged me to stop the asset liquidation, crying that the cartel was going to skin him alive.

I coldly told him that he was going to die a miserable, lonely death.

Julian's frantic sobbing suddenly stopped, replaced by a dark, chilling chuckle.

He told me to turn on the local news channel immediately.

He said he had anticipated my corporate counterattack and prepared a devastating backup plan.
