Chapter 8 - The Desperate Ploy

I watched my family speed away in their luxury car, knowing exactly what they would do next.

Desperate people do not surrender; they try to destroy the evidence.

I called my private security team and told them to monitor the yacht marina heavily.

I then drove to the secure safe house where Jake was hiding.

I finally sat my little brother down and told him the entire truth about the lottery ticket.

I watched him cry tears of absolute relief when he realized he was totally safe.

I promised him that Grandpa’s legacy was secure, and I had a massive surprise waiting for him.

Later that evening, my attorney called me with an urgent update.

My parents had not gone to the police station to sign the confessions.

Instead, they had driven straight to a highly corrupt local judge they had bribed in the past.

They were attempting to file an emergency injunction to have me committed to a psychiatric facility.

They planned to claim my combat trauma had made me dangerously delusional and financially unstable.

If they succeeded, they would gain legal conservatorship over me and my lottery winnings.

They were perfectly willing to lock their own daughter in an asylum to steal her money.

I felt a profound sense of disgust, but I was fully prepared for this exact maneuver.

I told my attorney to let the judge sign the fraudulent psychiatric order.

My attorney gasped, warning me that the police could arrive at my door at any minute.

I calmly explained that I wanted them to try and execute the order publicly.

I had already invited three investigative journalists and a federal prosecutor to my apartment.

I was setting the ultimate trap to expose their corruption to the entire world.

A loud, aggressive pounding echoed from my front door just as the clock struck midnight.
