Chapter 7 - The Confrontation

I stared at the photograph on the table with absolute, chilling clarity.

It was a picture of me leaving the Beverly Hills surgical clinic.

Madison sneered, crossing her arms over her expensive designer jacket.

She explained that a nurse at the clinic was one of her social media followers.

The nurse had recognized my name and illegally tipped Madison off about my expensive private surgery.

My mother leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with toxic, undeniable greed.

She demanded to know how a broke military veteran afforded a millionaire’s medical treatment.

I slowly took a sip of my coffee, refusing to show them an ounce of fear.

I told them I had a generous benefactor who appreciated my service to the country.

My mother laughed, a harsh sound that drew stares from the other patrons.

She threatened to call the police and claim I had stolen the money from their accounts.

She actually believed she still had power over me because I was the discarded daughter.

Madison pulled out her phone and threatened to ruin my reputation online.

I smiled, a cold and terrifying expression that finally made my mother hesitate.

I leaned across the table and whispered that they should check their secret safe on the yacht.

My mother’s confident smirk instantly vanished, replaced by sheer, unadulterated panic.

I told them I knew about the forged signatures, the stolen identity, and the cartel ledger.

Madison dropped her phone onto the table, her hands shaking violently.

I gave them an ultimatum right there in the crowded coffee shop.

They had twenty-four hours to sign a full confession to the FBI and clear Jake’s name.

If they refused, I would send the cartel the exact GPS coordinates of Madison’s yacht.

My mother’s eyes filled with venom as she realized she had finally lost control.

She grabbed Madison’s arm and stormed out of the coffee shop in a panicked rush.

I knew they were not going to surrender to the police.
