Chapter 8 - The Hospital Roof

The terrifying words of the screaming nurse violently echoed in my entirely ringing ears.

Eleanor was heavily armed, highly desperate, and completely in possession of my precious newborn baby.

Officer Davis immediately drew his massive service weapon and spoke frantically into his shoulder radio.

"We have a massive active kidnapping situation, lock down the entire medical facility right now!" Davis aggressively ordered.

Loud, blaring alarms instantly erupted completely throughout the massive hospital, flashing bright red lights in every single corridor.

I absolutely refused to wait for the heavily armed tactical team to highly secure the entire massive building.

I fiercely ran entirely past the shocked officers, pushing forcefully through the broken glass of the emergency fire exit.

The heavy metal stairwell was completely dark, but I could easily hear highly frantic footsteps echoing entirely above me.

Eleanor was aggressively running directly up toward the massive, flat hospital roof.

I entirely ignored the massive, burning pain in my injured wrist and fiercely sprinted up the concrete steps.

I forcefully kicked open the heavy roof access door, completely stepping out into the violently freezing rain.

The highly massive hospital roof was completely slick with heavy water, totally illuminated by blinding lightning strikes.

Eleanor was standing dangerously close to the absolute edge of the massive roof, completely drenched in the heavy rain.

She was aggressively holding my tiny, fragile baby completely over the terrifying, massive drop.

"Stay entirely back, you crazy animal!" Eleanor shrieked violently, aiming a heavy black revolver directly at my chest.

I completely stopped exactly in my tracks, my entire heart pounding violently against my ribcage.

"Please, Eleanor, do whatever you want to me, but please do not drop my innocent baby," I begged heavily, falling completely to my freezing knees.

Eleanor let out a massive, highly unhinged laugh that entirely chilled my very soul.

"If I absolutely cannot have complete control of my grandbaby, then absolutely nobody will," she spat violently.

Mark suddenly burst aggressively through the heavy roof door, highly out of breath and completely soaked.

He looked completely terrified as he finally saw the massive monster his mother had entirely become.

"Mom, please put the gun down and carefully hand me the baby," Mark pleaded desperately, stepping highly cautiously toward her.

Eleanor aggressively pointed the dangerous weapon directly at her own son's chest.

"You are a completely weak disappointment, Mark, just exactly like your pathetic father," Eleanor snarled entirely viciously.

The sheer, absolute betrayal completely shattered Mark's incredibly fragile, deeply corrupted worldview.

While Eleanor was entirely distracted by highly insulting her broken son, I noticed Officer Davis slowly creeping quietly up behind her in the heavy shadows.

I aggressively needed to keep her completely talking for just exactly three more seconds.

"You are highly pathetic, Eleanor, because you will completely die entirely alone in a dark prison cell!" I screamed highly aggressively to draw her full attention.

Eleanor violently screamed in pure rage and aggressively leveled the heavy gun directly at my completely unprotected head.

Before she could physically pull the heavy trigger, a massive, highly deafening gunshot violently echoed entirely across the freezing roof.
