Chapter 10 - The Final Verdict

The heavy oak doors of the massive courtroom swung open as the stern judge walked proudly to his bench.
It had been exactly one grueling month of highly intense legal battles since the violent incident on the hospital roof.
I sat nervously beside my incredibly dedicated lawyer, violently squeezing my completely healed hands together under the wooden table.
Eleanor sat arrogantly on the completely opposite side of the large room, flanked entirely by her expensive defense attorneys.
Mark sat completely silently right beside her, wearing an incredibly bright orange prison jumpsuit and a sling on his healing shoulder.
The highly tense atmosphere in the massive courtroom was entirely thick with heavy, suffocating anxiety.
The stern judge slowly adjusted his thick reading glasses and looked completely down at the highly massive pile of official evidence.
"This has been a highly disturbing, incredibly complex trial filled with massive deceit," the judge announced loudly.
Eleanor confidently smirked highly at me, completely believing her expensive lawyers had successfully bought her absolute freedom.
The judge picked up his heavy wooden gavel, entirely preparing to read the absolute, final legal verdict.
"Eleanor Miller, based entirely on the highly undeniable audio recordings and the extreme violence on the hospital roof, I find you completely guilty of massive kidnapping and attempted murder," the judge declared fiercely.
Eleanor's highly arrogant smirk violently vanished completely as two heavy police officers aggressively moved to instantly handcuff her.
"You cannot highly do this to me, I am completely innocent!" Eleanor violently shrieked as they roughly dragged her entirely away.
The judge forcefully banged his massive gavel entirely down, completely restoring absolute, pure order to the highly chaotic room.
"Mark Miller, you are officially sentenced to five complete years in federal prison for being a massive, highly willing accessory to these horrible crimes," the judge continued quickly.
"Furthermore, I completely grant absolute, sole legal custody of the infant Lily directly to her innocent mother, Sarah."
I heavily collapsed completely into my lawyer's arms, crying massive, highly beautiful tears of absolute, pure joy.
The incredibly heavy, massive nightmare was finally, entirely over for completely good.
Later that beautiful evening, I safely settled my amazing daughter entirely into her warm crib inside our incredibly beautiful, highly secure new apartment.
I casually walked fully into the bright kitchen to happily sort through the daily mail, deeply breathing in the sweet scent of total freedom.
At the very bottom of the small pile was a heavy, unmarked manila envelope with absolutely no return address.
I curiously tore open the thick paper flap and found a completely highly crinkled, slightly yellowed photograph of a young man holding a tiny newborn baby.
The heavily smiling man completely pictured in the old photo was absolutely undeniably my highly biological father, who supposedly entirely died exactly twenty-five years ago.
A neatly handwritten note was carefully taped completely to the back of the shocking picture.

"You fought incredibly bravely, my beautiful daughter, but your crazy mother-in-law was absolutely never the real threat," the chilling note heavily read.
"Pack your bags completely right now, because the highly dangerous men who forcefully made me disappear have finally entirely found out exactly where you currently live."
