Chapter 7 - The Bloodline Betrayal

Julian was completely unhinged, his entire identity shattered by a single, devastating recording.
He had spent his whole life believing he was the ruthless, rightful heir to a billionaire empire.
Now, he was nothing more than a bastard child with absolutely no legal claim to the vast trust fund.
"Put the gun down, Julian, it is over," Vance commanded, aiming his own weapon at Julian's chest.
Julian laughed, a hysterical and broken sound that chilled my very bones.
"If I am not a Sterling, then neither of you are leaving this vault alive," Julian threatened wildly.
Before anyone could pull a trigger, the main vault doors hissed open loudly behind us.
Margaret strode into the room, flanked by six heavily armed cartel mercenaries.
Her expensive dress was ruined, but her eyes burned with absolute, lethal determination.
"Drop your weapons, all of you!" Margaret ordered, her voice echoing sharply off the steel walls.
Julian turned to his mother, his eyes wild with furious, heartbroken betrayal.
"You lied to me my entire life!" Julian screamed, waving the heavy gun at her.
"You made me a monster just to protect your own pathetic, greedy secrets!"
Margaret did not look guilty, nor did she look even slightly apologetic.
She looked at the son she had raised with complete and utter disgust.
"You were a necessary pawn to secure my place in this wealthy family, Julian," Margaret sneered.
She raised her perfectly manicured hand and snapped her fingers sharply.
The six mercenaries instantly raised their rifles and aimed them directly at Julian's chest.

"I only needed you to find the vault," Margaret said with a cold, dead stare.
"Kill him, and bring me the silver ring."
