Grant slowly backed away from the terrifying weapon in Lauren's steady hand.
He begged her to lower the gun, promising to double whatever the CFO was paying her.

Grant scrambled blindly through the heavy foam and burst out into the underground parking garage.
He desperately pulled out his cell phone and dialed his mother's private number.
Evelyn answered on the first ring, her voice sounding strangely calm and distant.
Grant frantically begged his mother to access the secret emergency trust fund they had hidden in her name.
He told her he needed two million dollars in untraceable cash and a private jet immediately.
Evelyn remained completely silent on the other end of the line for a long, agonizing moment.
She finally sighed deeply and told her son that the secret trust fund no longer existed.
