Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Betrayal

I stood perfectly still under the enforcer's terrifying gaze, refusing to show a single ounce of fear.
"I am fully aware that my husband forged my signature on those fraudulent documents," I stated loudly for the entire room to hear.
Spencer screamed that I was lying, completely desperate to save his own miserable skin.
The enforcer chuckled softly, slowly shaking his head in absolute amusement.
"I genuinely do not care who actually signed the paperwork, Mrs. Albright," the enforcer replied smoothly.
He completely ignored my true Crawford identity, focusing entirely on the terms of his illegal contract.
"The syndicate only cares about extracting the specific collateral listed on the final page of the agreement."
I felt a massive, boiling surge of pure hatred rise violently in my chest.
"You will never touch a single hair on my daughter's head," I promised him with lethal, absolute certainty.
The wealthy crowd gasped in absolute horror as the true, sickening nature of the collateral was finally revealed.
Spencer had proudly admitted to the entire elite society that he had sacrificed his own child to save his business.
"It was just a temporary guarantee, I never meant for them to actually take Hazel!" Spencer cried out defensively.
I walked directly over to him and slapped him across the face with devastating, bone-rattling force.
The sharp sound of my hand striking his cheek echoed like a gunshot through the silent ballroom.
Spencer stumbled backward into a table, clutching his rapidly bruising face in absolute shock.
Cassandra shrieked in anger and lunged aggressively toward my back with her manicured claws extended.
I simply stepped gracefully to the side, allowing her own reckless momentum to carry her forward.
Cassandra crashed violently into a massive tower of crystal champagne glasses, shattering them loudly across the marble floor.
She laid in a puddle of expensive alcohol, completely humiliated and covered in sticky champagne.
Patricia began screaming hysterically, pulling her phone from her purse to call the local authorities.
"I am calling the police right now to arrest you for this unprovoked assault!" Patricia threatened wildly.
I smiled coldly, knowing she was walking blindly into the exact trap I had carefully laid for them.
"Please do, Patricia, I would absolutely love to speak with the authorities tonight," I encouraged her smoothly.
Spencer suddenly regained his false confidence, realizing the police could offer him a temporary escape.
He pulled a folded piece of paper from his own pocket and waved it triumphantly in the air.

"You are going to prison for kidnapping my daughter this evening, Gwen!" Spencer shouted arrogantly.
He unfolded the document to reveal a heavily forged emergency custody order signed by a corrupt local judge.
