Chapter 4 - The Fugitive Judge

The state troopers screamed aggressively for me to drop my pen and put my hands high in the air.

Marshal Thomas immediately stepped between me and the troopers, aiming his federal weapon directly at their chests.

He loudly declared that I was under the absolute protection of the United States Marshals Service.

The lead trooper shouted that they had a signed federal arrest warrant accusing me of orchestrating a terrorist plot.

I realized Daniel had somehow compromised a higher-ranking federal judge to sign that devastating and completely fabricated warrant.

A tense, deadly standoff ensued in my chambers, with dozens of highly trained officers prepared to kill each other.

I slowly raised my hands and commanded Marshal Thomas to stand down to prevent a senseless and bloody massacre.

I calmly told the state troopers that I would cooperate fully, but my daughter and granddaughter were innocent bystanders.

The troopers aggressively placed heavy iron handcuffs on my wrists, ignoring Clara's desperate and agonizing screams.

As they dragged me down the polished marble corridor, I covertly slipped a small encrypted USB drive into Thomas's pocket.

The drive contained the finalized cartel indictment and all the documented evidence of Daniel's horrific domestic abuse.

They threw me into the back of a heavily armored transport van, completely isolating me from the outside world.

The van drove for over an hour before violently swerving off the paved road onto a rough, unpaved gravel path.

I knew standard transport protocols strictly dictated we head directly to the secure federal detention center downtown.

The terrifying realization hit me that these troopers were not taking me to a legitimate prison.

The van finally lurched to a halt, and the heavy metal doors swung aggressively open to reveal an abandoned industrial warehouse.

Daniel stepped out of the dark shadows, wearing an expensive tailored suit and a triumphant, venomous smirk.

He casually handed a thick stack of cash to the lead state trooper, completely confirming my worst fears about the corruption.

The corrupt troopers removed my handcuffs and quickly sped away, leaving me entirely alone with my daughter's monstrous abuser.

Daniel walked slowly toward me, holding a heavy metal crowbar in his right hand.

He proudly boasted that Clara and Sophie were currently being hunted down by his best cartel mercenaries.

He promised to make my death look like a tragic suicide fueled by the immense guilt of my fabricated crimes.

I stared back at him with absolutely zero fear, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing me break.

I calmly informed him that my life meant absolutely nothing as long as his massive criminal empire burned to the ground.

He raised the heavy crowbar above his head, his eyes completely wide with unhinged and psychotic rage.

Before he could strike, a massive explosion completely shattered the far wall of the abandoned warehouse.

A thick cloud of blinding smoke filled the room, accompanied by the deafening roar of a military-grade helicopter.

A figure descended from the helicopter on a fast rope, firing a suppressed weapon into the concrete floor near Daniel's feet.

It was Marshal Thomas, and he had not followed my orders to peacefully stand down.
