I grabbed Ellie's hand so hard she let out a small gasp.

My maternal instincts screamed at me to run before the bullets started flying.

Vincent stood completely still, staring at the men he had trusted with his life.

"You bought my own guards, Dominic?" Vincent asked calmly.

"I bought your entire empire, Vincent," Dominic laughed coldly.

"When I pull this trigger, the syndicate officially belongs to me."

Dominic raised his weapon and aimed directly at Vincent's head.

In that exact split second, Isabella did something truly unimaginable.

The mute seven-year-old girl threw the heavy black suitcase full of cash straight at the window.

The thick glass shattered into a million loud pieces.

The sudden, deafening noise caused the corrupt bodyguards to flinch and look away.

Vincent violently tackled Dominic to the hard floor.

"Run, Anna!" Vincent screamed at me at the top of his lungs.

I didn't hesitate for a single second.

I scooped up Ellie in my arms and grabbed Isabella by her pale blue dress.

We sprinted out of the therapy room and darted into the dark, sweeping hallway.

Gunfire erupted loudly behind us, echoing off the expensive marble walls.

I pulled the two girls behind a heavy oak bookshelf at the end of the corridor.

I reached out to press the hidden latch that opened the secret servant stairwell.

Before the wooden panel could click open, a massive hand clamped down hard over my mouth.
