Chapter 9 - The Beast Unleashed
Liam completely lost his mind as the silver compound hijacked his brain.
He violently tore the Mercer tracker to pieces in a matter of seconds.
Then he slowly turned his chaotic, murderous gaze toward Harper.
Harper backed against the cold concrete wall with nowhere left to run.
She closed her eyes and prepared for the absolute worst.
A deafening roar completely shattered the foundation of the underground bunker.
The heavy concrete ceiling collapsed in a massive cloud of dust and debris.
A monstrous black wolf the size of a truck landed between Harper and Liam.
Kane had broken the sacred law of the Hunt to save her life.
The two brothers collided in a heartbreaking, vicious battle of pure strength.
Kane refused to use his lethal claws against his long-lost brother.
He used his massive weight to pin Liam to the ground until the madness subsided.
Liam finally stopped struggling and passed out from sheer exhaustion.
Kane shifted back into his human form, completely covered in blood and dust.
He pulled Harper into his arms just as the distant clock tower struck midnight.
She had officially won the Hunt and secured her freedom.
Gideon and the loyal guards arrived to arrest the treacherous Mercer trackers.
Vivian was placed in heavy iron handcuffs at the edge of the forest.

She smiled directly at Harper with a sickeningly sweet expression.
She whispered that the true poison was never meant for the Alpha King.
