Chapter 5 - The Billionaire's Choice

My heart completely shattered into a million jagged pieces.

Graham walked slowly over to Victoria's side of the room.

He stood dutifully beside the cruel woman who was actively blackmailing him.

He had actually chosen his money and his freedom over me and the triplets.

“Give her the medicine, Victoria,” Graham said coldly.

“We have an empire to protect.”

Victoria smiled triumphantly and carelessly kicked the blue suitcase toward me.

I dropped to my knees, frantically unzipped the bag, and pulled out Leo's life-saving inhalers.

Hot tears blurred my vision as I realized I was truly on my own again.

“Take your bastard children and disappear,” Victoria sneered.

I stood up, clutching the medicine tightly to my chest, and walked toward the penthouse door.

As I passed Graham, he reached out and forcefully grabbed my upper arm.

His grip was incredibly tight, almost painful.

“Do not ever contact us again,” he shouted angrily.

But as he yelled the cruel words, he secretly slipped a plastic keycard and a small piece of paper into my jacket pocket.

I did not react, forcing my face to look completely devastated.

I walked out of the luxury hotel and ran down the street until I was safely out of sight.

I pulled the hidden paper from my pocket with violently trembling hands.

It was a banking receipt for an offshore transfer in my exact name.

Graham had just deposited ten million dollars into my private account.

Beneath the printed numbers, he had scribbled a frantic, desperate message in ink.

“Use the keycard to hide at the safehouse, I will handle Victoria.”

I hailed a passing cab and raced back to the urgent care clinic.

I administered Leo's vital medication, watching his breathing finally return to a normal, steady rhythm.

I gathered all three of my beautiful children and loaded them into a private town car I hired with my new funds.

I gave the driver the discreet address printed on Graham's secret keycard.

The car took us to a heavily guarded, luxury apartment building on the extreme edge of the city.

The keycard magically granted me access to a massive, secure penthouse on the top floor.

I locked the heavy steel doors behind me and finally let myself breathe.

The triplets fell asleep on the massive king-sized bed, exhausted from the chaotic day.

I opened my banking app on my phone and stared at the staggering ten million dollars in my account.

I had enough money to protect my children forever.

Victoria could never touch us now.

I felt a massive wave of absolute relief wash over my tired body.

We were finally safe from the billionaire drama that had ruined my life.

Then a loud, aggressive pounding echoed violently from the front door.
