Chapter 1 - The Shattered Phone

The moment Graham Whitaker dropped his phone, the entire airport terminal seemed to hold its breath.

The expensive device shattered against the polished floor, scattering glass across the tiles.

He did not even blink.

His piercing gaze was locked on the three toddlers standing by my legs.

Our daughter wore a bright yellow sweater and clutched half a cracker in her tiny hand.

“Hi,” she said cheerfully.

“Want some?”

Graham stared at her as if she were a ghost.

It was not because of the cracker.

It was because her blue-gray eyes looked exactly like his.

Behind our daughter stood her brother and sister.

Three toddlers.

Three pieces of his heart.

Three children he had never met.

Eighteen months earlier, Graham had told me to raise our baby alone because fatherhood did not fit into his perfect life.

I had never told him that the pregnancy contained triplets.

Every emotion I had buried over the past eighteen months came rushing back to the surface.

Our eyes met across the crowded terminal.

For a moment, the busy airport completely disappeared.

“Emily,” he whispered.

His voice sounded different.

It sounded much smaller than the confident billionaire I used to know.

I adjusted our son on my hip and simply nodded.

“Graham.”

His eyes moved frantically between the three children.

I watched absolute realization spread across his handsome face.

His lips parted in shock.

His broad chest tightened under his expensive tailored suit.

“Are they...” he started to ask.

I already knew the question he was struggling to form.

“Yes,” I answered firmly.

The single word seemed to hit him harder than a physical blow.

“They are yours,” I confirmed.

The billionaire who feared needing anyone looked completely broken.

He took a hesitant step forward, reaching out a trembling hand toward our son.

But before he could say another word, a sharp voice shouted his name from across the terminal.

I turned my head to look.

A stunning woman in a designer trench coat was running toward us.

The moment Graham saw her, every trace of color drained from his face.

She wrapped her arm around his waist and looked down at my children with a confused smile.

Then her eyes shifted to me, and her friendly expression instantly vanished.

I had never seen this glamorous woman in my entire life.

But she looked at Graham and delivered a sentence that made my blood run cold.

“Is this the surrogate who stole our babies eighteen months ago?” she demanded.
