Chapter 4 - The Eviction

Liam printed dozens of high-quality screenshots from the security footage.
He carefully placed the memory card into a plastic bag to preserve the evidence.
This was exactly the proof he needed to destroy the false CPS claims.
He packed his laptop and prepared to head straight to the police precinct.
Suddenly, his cell phone vibrated violently on the kitchen counter.
The caller ID displayed an unknown, out-of-state number.
Liam cautiously answered the call, pressing the phone to his ear.
A smooth, arrogant male voice spoke from the other end of the line.
"Liam, I am Arthur Vance, your mother's personal attorney," the man said.
"Do not ever contact my family again," Liam growled, preparing to hang up.
"I wouldn't hang up if I were you," Arthur replied with a sinister chuckle.
"Your mother has instructed me to inform you of a recent financial transaction."
"Eleanor's holding company just purchased the entire debt of your home mortgage."
Liam froze in his tracks, a cold dread washing over his entire body.
"What are you talking about?" Liam demanded angrily.
"You missed a single payment three years ago, triggering a default clause," Arthur explained.
"Your mother is executing that clause immediately."
"You have exactly ten minutes to vacate the premises before you are trespassing."
Liam ran to the front window and pulled back the living room curtains.
A massive yellow bulldozer was already parked on his perfectly manicured lawn.
Two armed private security contractors were standing on his front porch.
Liam grabbed the bag of evidence and rushed out the back door into the alley.
He climbed over the wooden fence just as he heard the front door get kicked open.
He sprinted down the dark street toward his truck parked a block away.
He threw the bag into the passenger seat and started the engine.
He watched in the rearview mirror as the bulldozer literally smashed into his living room.
His childhood home was being completely destroyed right before his eyes.
But he did not care about the house anymore.
He slammed his foot on the gas pedal and sped toward the police station.

As he drove, a breaking news alert flashed across his dashboard screen.
The headline stated that Eleanor's private jet had just crashed into the ocean.
