Chapter 5 - UNDER SIEGE
At 4:15 AM, the penthouse alarms blared. Red emergency lights bathed the luxury apartment in a sinister glow.
Alexander burst into the guest room, a Glock 19 in his hand. "We have to go. Now."
Rosa grabbed Mia, wrapping the terrified child in a blanket. "What's happening?"
"Victor," Alexander growled. "They cut the power to the main elevators. They're coming up the stairwells."
Gunfire erupted in the hallway, shattering the priceless artwork outside the suite. Alexander shoved Rosa and Mia toward the master bedroom closet. He pressed his hand against a hidden biometric scanner on the wall. A panel slid open, revealing a private, manual-drop escape elevator designed for executive emergencies.
"Get in," Alexander ordered, pushing them inside.

"What about you?" Rosa cried.
"I'll buy you time," he said, turning back toward the door as heavy boots kicked it open. Alexander fired twice, dropping the first two mercenaries. But there were too many. A bullet grazed Alexander's shoulder, throwing him backward into the hidden elevator just as the doors sealed shut.
