Chapter 8 - The True Puppet Master
The terrifying man holding my sick mother was Martin, my supposedly loyal divorce attorney.
He smiled wickedly and tossed my frail, terrified mother onto the cold concrete floor like a discarded doll.
Grant looked up from his bleeding knee and desperately begged Martin for immediate medical assistance.
Martin completely ignored him and casually kicked Grant’s wounded leg, sending him into another fit of agonizing screams.
Martin proudly announced that he was the actual mastermind behind the entire, elaborate Sterling syndicate takeover.
Grant was nothing but a pathetic, easily manipulated puppet used to secure the required biological heir.
Martin had brilliantly orchestrated the entire fake marriage, the IVF treatments, and the massive corporate fraud.
He raised his suppressed weapon and aimed it directly at Vanessa’s chest without a single ounce of hesitation.
Vanessa bravely raised her own gun to fire, but Martin was terrifyingly faster.
He shot her twice in the stomach, sending her crashing heavily to the ground beside Grant.
I screamed in pure horror and immediately dove to aggressively shield my crying baby from the flying bullets.
Martin slowly walked toward me, demanding that I hand over the ultimate billionaire key immediately.
I grabbed a broken, jagged piece of steel pipe from the ground and prepared to fight him to the bloody death.
I told him I would gladly die before I ever let a monster like him touch my innocent child.
Martin laughed cruelly and placed his finger firmly on the trigger to end my life.
Suddenly, a massive, incredibly heavy utility box violently crashed down onto Martin from the catwalk above.
Julian, bleeding heavily but fueled by pure, unstoppable adrenaline, leaped down from the upper level.

He aggressively tackled Martin to the ground, engaging in a brutal, life-or-death struggle for the dropped weapon.
During the chaotic fight, a stray bullet ricocheted loudly off the wall and struck a massive electrical panel.
