Chapter 10 - The Dawn of a New Empire
Six beautifully peaceful months had passed since the terrifying, bloody night in the abandoned subway station.
Grant was officially sentenced to three consecutive life terms in a maximum-security federal prison without the possibility of parole.
Martin’s massive, illegal shadow empire was completely dismantled by a joint task force of international law enforcement agencies.
Vanessa miraculously survived her severe gunshot wounds and quietly accepted a generous plea deal to testify against the syndicate.
My mother was resting comfortably in a stunning, sunlit room at the absolute best private recovery clinic in Switzerland.
I stood on the beautiful, expansive terrace of a massive, heavily guarded estate overlooking the crystal-clear ocean.
Julian walked up behind me, wrapping his strong, incredibly warm arms securely around my waist.
His terrible wounds had completely healed, leaving only a fading scar to remind us of his incredible bravery.
Noah was happily babbling in his plush crib nearby, his striking violet eyes shining brightly in the warm sunlight.
Julian and I had quietly married in a beautiful, entirely private ceremony surrounded only by people we truly trusted.
The remaining billions of the legitimate Sterling trust had been legally transferred directly into Noah’s secure name.
We were finally a real, completely unbroken family, completely free from the terrifying shadows of the past.
I leaned my head back against Julian's shoulder, feeling a profound, absolute peace I never thought possible.
Later that quiet evening, I walked out to the grand front gates to retrieve a small, misplaced package from the courier.
I carefully opened the pristine white box and found a beautifully crafted, antique silver pocket watch resting inside.

The watch was completely shattered, frozen permanently at the exact minute Grant had been formally arrested.
A beautifully elegant, handwritten note tucked underneath the broken glass read: "The false king is finally dead, but the true queen’s trial has only just begun."
