Julian froze completely, the arrogant smile melting off his face like hot wax.
He tried to stand up and step backward, but two uniform officers immediately blocked the doorway.
He demanded to know where the detective had obtained such ridiculous footage.
The detective tapped the screen of his tablet and played the video for everyone to hear.
It was not just visual security footage from the corporate server room.
It was a highly detailed, crystal-clear video recorded from Camila's own mobile phone.
The detective revealed that Camila had secretly recorded Julian setting up the entire frame job against me.
She knew Julian would eventually betray her, so she created an ultimate insurance policy.
She had traded the real evidence to the authorities to save herself from federal prison.
Julian began screaming wildly, blaming the board, blaming Camila, and blaming me as the officers read him his rights.
They placed him in handcuffs and dragged him out of the interrogation room kicking and shouting.
I walked out of the police precinct shortly after, the warm morning sun finally hitting my skin.
The horrible nightmare I had lived in for seven years was finally supposed to be over.
