Chapter 9 - The Dead Man's Switch

The blinking red lights on the explosive vest reflected brightly against the polished wood of the cabin interior.
Arthur froze instantly, his hands raised in a gesture of complete surrender as he stared at the deadly device.
Vanessa held a small, black detonator tightly in her right hand, her thumb hovering directly over the trigger button.
“This is a remote dead man’s switch, Arthur,” Vanessa explained with a manic, unhinged laugh.
“If I release this button, or if you try to take it from me, the entire plane turns into a fireball.”
Clara slowly stood up from the floor, her mind racing desperately to find a way out of this impossible situation.
She noticed a small, blinking green light on the plane's internal communication panel near the ceiling.
The private jet was equipped with a highly sophisticated, military-grade signal jammer to prevent corporate espionage during flights.
Clara realized that if the detonator was a remote relay, it required a clear radio frequency to signal the explosive vest.
If she could somehow activate the plane’s internal signal jammer, it would sever the connection between the remote and the bomb.
“Vanessa, please, you have all the money, just let us walk away,” Arthur begged, intentionally keeping her attention focused on him.
Clara slowly backed away, inching her hand carefully toward the heavy metal fire extinguisher mounted on the galley wall.
Vanessa sneered at Arthur, completely reveling in the absolute power she held over the billionaire.
“I don't just want the money, Arthur, I want to watch you burn,” she whispered viciously.
Clara grabbed the fire extinguisher and hurled it with all her might directly at the plane's communication panel on the wall.
The heavy metal cylinder smashed the panel into pieces, instantly triggering the emergency jammer protocol.
A loud, electronic hum filled the cabin as the plane's defensive systems flooded the area with dense radio interference.
The blinking red lights on Vanessa’s explosive vest suddenly stopped flashing, turning completely dark.
Vanessa looked down at her chest in utter confusion, aggressively pressing the button on the remote detonator over and over again.
Nothing happened.
Arthur did not waste the miraculous opportunity; he lunged forward and delivered a devastating punch directly to Vanessa’s jaw.
She collapsed onto the plush carpet, instantly knocked unconscious by the forceful blow.

Arthur quickly stripped the useless explosive vest off her body and kicked the detonator under a leather seat.
Just as they finally breathed a sigh of relief, the cabin doors were breached by heavily armed men dressed in dark tactical gear.
