Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Victory

The criminal trial barely lasted three days.
When you have the perpetrators admitting their entire scheme on 4K hidden cameras, defense attorneys don't have much to work with.
The judge, a no-nonsense woman with zero tolerance for abusers, looked down at David and Eleanor with pure disgust.
"You attempted to manipulate, terrorize, and steal from a woman who trusted you," the judge stated during sentencing. "You viewed her not as a human being, but as a financial asset to be broken and managed. Your arrogance is only matched by your cruelty."
David was sentenced to five years in state prison for attempted assault, coercion, and conspiracy.
Eleanor, due to the federal wire fraud and conspiracy charges, was sentenced to eight years in federal prison.
I sat in the front row of the courtroom, wearing a sharp, tailored suit. When the bailiffs placed the handcuffs on them, David looked back at me, tears streaming down his face. Eleanor looked at the floor, utterly defeated.
I didn't smile. I didn't gloat. I just watched the trash take itself out.
The civil suit awarded me absolute control of all my assets, plus massive punitive damages that would garnish whatever wages David ever managed to make for the rest of his life.
One year later, I was back in the martial arts gym where I had trained since I was seven. But I wasn't just hitting bags anymore. I had started a self-defense and financial literacy program for women. I taught them how to throw a punch, how to break a chokehold, and how to spot a financial predator before he even put a ring on their finger.

I walked out of the gym that evening into the warm summer air, breathing deeply. I was safe, I was wealthy, and I was entirely free.
They thought they could put me in my place. And they did. My place was at the top, watching their empire burn.
