Chapter 6 - The Brother's Debt
Alina screamed her brother's name over the deafening roar of the helicopter blades.
Leo refused to look back at her, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the dark horizon.
Viktor laughed triumphantly, securing Alina to the leather seat with heavy zip-ties.
"Your pathetic brother traded your life to pay off his gambling debts," Viktor cruelly revealed.
Alina felt her entire world shatter as tears of pure betrayal streamed down her face.
She had endured years of grueling work as a maid solely to protect Leo from these exact monsters.
Leo's knuckles were completely white as he gripped the helicopter's flight controls.
"I had no choice, Alina," Leo shouted, his voice cracking with deep shame and terror.
Viktor aimed his rifle at the back of Leo's head, ordering him to fly toward the Canadian border.
Alina looked out the window and saw the Vulkoff mansion shrinking into a burning speck of light.
She knew Damon was bleeding out on that freezing roof, entirely alone in the dark.
She refused to let this brutal traitor win and steal the man she had secretly fallen in love with.
Alina began twisting her wrists violently, ignoring the agonizing pain as the plastic ties cut into her skin.
She managed to slip her small, slender hand out of the crude binding just as the helicopter hit turbulence.
Viktor stumbled forward, losing his balance for a crucial fraction of a second.
Alina grabbed a heavy metal fire extinguisher from the wall and swung it with all her remaining strength.
The red cylinder connected with Viktor's skull, sending him crashing to the floor of the cabin.
Leo turned around in shock, realizing his brave sister had just taken down a mafia boss.
"Turn this helicopter around right now!" Alina screamed, pointing Viktor's dropped rifle directly at her brother.

Before Leo could maneuver the aircraft, a massive jolt rocked the entire helicopter.
Someone incredibly strong had just climbed up the landing gear and smashed the side window with a bloody fist.
