Chapter 10 - The False Victory
Dominic swaggered into the master suite, expecting to find a bloody massacre.
Instead, he found Vincent sitting tall in his wheelchair, holding a loaded pistol aimed at his chest.
Dominic raised his hands in absolute terror as Vincent forced him to his knees.
Vincent forced the cowardly underboss to record a full video confession on his phone.
Dominic detailed the entire assassination plot, crying and begging for mercy.
With the ultimate leverage secured, Vincent banished Dominic from Chicago forever under the threat of a brutal death.
The remaining loyal guards rushed into the room, carting Dominic and Marco away to face syndicate justice.
Vincent had successfully reclaimed his empire, purged his inner circle, and survived the impossible.
He felt a rush of immense power, proving he was still the undisputed king despite his wheelchair.
He poured a glass of expensive bourbon to celebrate his absolute victory.
He thanked Tessa for her unwavering bravery and promised she would be rich beyond her wildest dreams.
Vincent opened his laptop and logged into his master offshore account to verify his billions were safe.
The secure banking screen loaded slowly.
The total account balance flashed on the screen as zero dollars.
A live video feed suddenly opened on the laptop monitor.
It showed Lauren, completely alive and unharmed, laughing on a luxurious private jet.
Lauren looked directly into the camera and thanked Vincent for using his biometric scan to unlock the ghost account.
Vincent froze in sheer horror, realizing the gunshot, the blood, and the entire attack were flawlessly faked.

He slowly turned around to ask Tessa how this was possible.
Tessa was standing in the doorway, holding a suppressed pistol aimed directly at his head, smiling a terrifyingly cold smile.
