Chapter 6 - Unlikely Allies

The thug holding the gun to Norah's head began to drag her out of the kitchen.
He shoved her into the main dining area, right into Vance's line of sight.
Vance smiled, walking slowly toward her like a predator cornering its prey.
He mocked her, asking if she really thought a mafia boss would risk his life for a nobody waitress.
At that exact moment, the ceiling tile directly above Vance shattered into pieces.
Sebastian dropped from the ventilation shaft, landing heavily on Vance's shoulders.
Both men crashed into the booths, destroying a table in a chaotic tangle of limbs.
The thug holding Norah instinctively turned his weapon toward the commotion.
Norah didn't hesitate.
She grabbed a heavy, glass coffee pot from the counter and smashed it brutally across the thug's face.
The man howled in pain, dropping his gun as blood poured into his eyes.
Norah kicked the weapon away and rushed to untie Dale, whose hands were bound with zip ties.
Across the room, Sebastian and Vance were locked in a vicious hand-to-hand fight.
Vance managed to draw a combat knife, slashing a deep cut across Sebastian's ribcage.
Sebastian ignored the pain, disarming Vance with a brutal twist of the wrist before delivering a knockout punch.
The remaining thug at the front door raised his rifle, but Sebastian fired blindly, striking the man in the shoulder.
The room finally went quiet, filled only with the sound of heavy breathing and groaning men.
Norah helped Dale to his feet, checking the old man's bloody forehead.
Dale grabbed Norah's arm, his eyes wide with absolute panic.
He told her that Vance had received a phone call while they were waiting.
Vance had bragged to the caller that he didn't just want Norah dead anymore.
He had sent another team to pick up someone named Lily.
May you like
Norah dropped the empty coffee pot handle, her entire world collapsing.
Lily was her younger sister, the only family she had left, and the one person she had sworn to protect.
