Chapter 10 - The False Dawn

Sebastian parked the stolen truck behind a stack of rusted shipping containers.

They moved silently through the fog, eliminating two fake cops standing guard at the perimeter.

Sebastian moved with lethal precision, clearing the path into the main warehouse.

Inside, the vast space was mostly empty, save for a single chair sitting under a harsh spotlight.

Lily was tied to the chair, weeping softly, her clothes torn and dirty.

Detective Vance, who had somehow escaped the diner, stood beside her with a gun pointed at her head.

Sebastian didn't waste time negotiating with a dead man.

He raised his rifle and fired a single, perfect shot that struck Vance squarely in the chest.

Vance dropped dead instantly, his gun clattering harmlessly against the concrete floor.

Norah ran forward, tears streaming down her face as she threw her arms around her crying sister.

She untied the ropes, promising Lily that the nightmare was finally over and that they were safe.

Sebastian lowered his weapon, letting out a long, exhausted breath as he watched the sisters reunite.

It was a perfect, hard-fought victory against impossible odds.

Norah turned to thank Sebastian, a genuine smile breaking through her exhaustion.

But then Lily slowly stood up, brushing the dirt off her clothes with an eerie, unnatural calmness.

The tears instantly vanished from Lily's face, replaced by a cold, calculating sneer.

She looked directly at Sebastian, ignoring her sister entirely, and spoke in a clear, commanding tone.

She pulled a radio from her pocket, pressing the transmission button.

"The bait worked perfectly, send the rest of the men in," Lily said, leveling Vance's discarded gun directly at Norah's chest.
