Chapter 6 - The Broken Alliance
Arthur knew instantly that he did not have any time left to think about a complicated plan.
He aggressively threw the heavy yellow flashlight directly at Vanessa's face with all of his remaining strength.
The heavy metal casing smashed violently into her forehead with a truly sickening, loud crack.
Vanessa screamed in horrific agony and blindly fired the silver pistol upward into the wooden ceiling.
The incredibly loud gunshot violently echoed through the small concrete basement and made Sophie cover her small ears.
Arthur fiercely lunged forward through the darkness and forcefully swung the iron crowbar directly at her weapon hand.
The heavy iron bar viciously knocked the gun completely out of her grip and sent it sliding far into the dark shadows.
Vanessa fell heavily backward onto the bottom wooden stair while desperately holding her violently bleeding forehead.
"David, get down here right now!"
She screamed frantically for the corrupt lawyer at the absolute top of her bleeding lungs.
"Get down here right this second and kill him before he ruins everything!"
Arthur frantically scrambled across the cold concrete floor desperately searching for the dropped silver weapon in the darkness.
His frantic fingers finally brushed against the freezing cold metal barrel just as the basement door violently swung open above.
David rushed wildly down the wooden stairs while tightly holding his heavily stained wooden baseball bat.
He suddenly looked down at Vanessa bleeding heavily on the wooden steps and stopped completely in his tracks.
"I explicitly told you earlier that this entire plan was getting way too incredibly messy."
Vanessa glared up at him fiercely with pure, unadulterated hatred burning intensely in her dark eyes.
"Just hit him in the head with the bat right now!"
David looked nervously at Arthur who was currently aiming the retrieved silver pistol directly at the lawyer's chest.
The corrupt lawyer slowly and carefully lowered his dangerous wooden weapon to his side.
"I am absolutely not dying tonight for a crazy woman's revenge plot."
David quickly turned around and immediately started running back up the wooden stairs to save himself.
"You pathetic, useless coward!"
Vanessa quickly reached deep into her expensive dress pocket and instantly pulled out a second, much smaller hidden gun.
She furiously aimed it right at David's fleeing back and immediately pulled the sensitive trigger.
The fleeing lawyer violently collapsed onto the wooden stairs with a horribly heavy, sickening thud.

Vanessa slowly and painfully turned her second smoking weapon toward Arthur with a terrifying, bloody smile on her face.
"It looks like it is just going to be you and me now."
