Chapter 6 - The Flames of Vengeance

Celeste sat elegantly on the white leather sofa with a glass of champagne in her hand.
She smiled sweetly as Dominic stepped into the room.
"Welcome home, darling," she said, taking a slow sip.
Dominic looked at the dozens of weapons pointed directly at his chest.
"You brought your father's New York soldiers into my city," Dominic stated calmly.
Celeste stood up and walked toward him, her heels clicking against the marble floor.
"My father is taking over Chicago tonight."
"You are going to sign over all your territories, or my men will execute you right here."
Dominic let out a low, dark chuckle.
"You underestimated me, Celeste."
He pressed a hidden button on the inside of his tailored jacket.
The reinforced glass windows of the penthouse suddenly shattered inward.
Dominic's snipers, positioned on the neighboring rooftops, began eliminating the New York mercenaries with terrifying precision.
Total chaos erupted in the luxurious living room.
Dominic drew his weapon and fought his way back to the private elevator.
He killed four men before the metal doors finally closed, shielding him from the gunfire.
He pulled out his phone and called Matteo in a complete panic.
"Is the safehouse secure?" Dominic yelled over the sound of the descending elevator.
Static crackled on the other end of the line.
"Dominic," Matteo coughed heavily into the receiver.
"Celeste sent a second team to the safehouse."

"The building is completely on fire."
Dominic's heart stopped beating as the call abruptly disconnected.
