Chapter 3 - The Blood Bath
Sophie was crying silently as the cold blade rested against her skin.
Maya screamed and tried to run forward.
Two massive guards grabbed her shoulders and forced her violently to the concrete floor.
Dante Falcone smiled and asked Maya where the ledger was.
Maya begged him to let the girl go because it was all a terrible misunderstanding.
She confessed that she did not know Dominic Russo and had only served him water.
Dante's smile vanished instantly.
He realized he had kidnapped a useless civilian and wasted his own time.
He raised the silver knife and said she was no longer of any use to him.
Maya closed her eyes and waited for the fatal strike.
A deafening explosion suddenly shattered the steel doors of the warehouse.
The entire building shook as an armored SUV smashed through the barricade.
Gunfire erupted from every single direction before the vehicle even came to a halt.
Dante's men began dropping to the floor in rapid succession.
Dominic Russo stepped out of the smoke with an assault rifle in his hands.
He was no longer wearing his tailored suit jacket.
His face was a mask of absolute, unadulterated violence.
The scarred enforcer from the restaurant was right behind him firing a shotgun.
Dante Falcone dropped the knife and desperately ran toward the back exit.
Dominic did not even look at Dante as he fired two precise shots into the man's kneecaps.
Dante collapsed and screamed in absolute agony.
The gunfire ceased as quickly as it had started.
The warehouse was filled with the smell of sulfur and spilled blood.
Maya crawled frantically across the floor and pulled Sophie into her arms.
Dominic walked slowly toward them with his heavy boots echoing on the concrete.
He looked down at Maya with the same cold calculation he had shown in the restaurant.
He told her she was incredibly stupid to walk into a Falcone trap completely unarmed.
Maya held her sister tightly and asked him why he had followed her.
Dominic leaned down until his face was inches from hers.
He said his enemies had used his name to kidnap a woman.
He explained that disrespecting his reputation carried a very heavy price.

He whispered that since he had just saved her life, she now belonged entirely to him.
