Chapter 7 - The Brothers' War

Orion stepped entirely instinctively in front of Ren, completely shielding her with his own body.
He glared fiercely at his brother with a cold, murderous fury burning brightly in his eyes.
Silas laughed softly, deeply amused by Orion's sudden display of protective, romantic affection.
He offered Orion a incredibly simple deal to end the violence without any further bloodshed.
If Orion signed over total, absolute control of the empire, Silas would gladly let Ren and Aldrich live.
Orion knew perfectly well his brother was a pathological liar who would kill them all regardless.
Ren silently and cleverly slipped a small glass vial from her medical bag entirely into her palm.
She crushed the fragile vial against the floor, releasing a thick, blinding chemical smoke.
The room filled instantly with a harsh, heavily stinging cloud that burned their eyes and throats.
Elias fired completely blindly into the smoke, his stray bullets shattering the large glass windows.
Caesar lunged ferociously through the chaos, tackling Elias and disarming him completely.
Orion grabbed his injured father and Ren, pulling them desperately toward the emergency fire escape.
They scrambled quickly down the metal stairs just as Silas fired wildly from the broken window above.
They managed to reach the crowded city streets, disappearing seamlessly into the panicked night crowd.
Orion knew deeply they could no longer run or hide from this inevitable, bloody war.
They had to violently strike Silas where he felt safest to end this terrifying nightmare once and for all.
They stole a heavy armored SUV and drove directly and aggressively toward Silas's mountain fortress.
Ren prepared her medical toxins quietly, turning her healing tools into deadly, silent weapons.
Orion checked his heavy ammunition, his face completely set in a mask of absolute, lethal determination.
They parked a mile away from the grand estate, hiking through the freezing, snow-covered forest.
The massive fortress was completely surrounded by high concrete walls and heavily armed patrol units.
They managed to successfully breach the perimeter by cutting through a rusted, forgotten drainage pipe.
They slipped completely into the courtyard, moving silently through the shadows like deadly ghosts.
Orion led them confidently toward the guest wing where Meadow was supposedly being held captive.
They reached the heavy oak door of the suite, finding it completely and suspiciously unguarded.
Orion kicked the door entirely open, completely ready to face a brutal ambush inside the room.
Instead, they found Caesar locked tightly inside a heavy iron cage in the exact center of the room.

Silas's voice echoed loudly through the hidden speakers, announcing that he had captured the dog earlier.
The heavy door slammed completely shut behind them, locking them securely inside the deadly trap.
