Chapter 8 - The Helipad Confrontation

The deafening roar of the helicopter completely drowned out the sound of the raging thunderstorm sweeping across the city.

Vanessa did not hesitate for a single second, pulling the trigger and unleashing a massive hail of bullets toward the doorway.

Julian tackled Clara violently to the wet concrete, rolling them both behind a heavy, steel air conditioning unit for cover.

Sparks flew dangerously through the dark sky as high-velocity rounds ricocheted aggressively off the metal machinery.

"You are so incredibly naive, Julian!" Vanessa's psychotic laughter echoed eerily over the sound of the gunfire.

"I played the perfect, loving bride for an entire year, and you never once suspected I was digging your grave!"

Julian realized his pistol was absolutely no match for a military-grade assault rifle at this distance.

He desperately needed a powerful distraction to close the gap before Vanessa simply boarded the helicopter and flew away forever.

He looked around the rain-slicked roof and noticed a massive, red industrial fire extinguisher mounted on a nearby wall.

Julian signaled to Clara, pointing aggressively at the heavy red tank and holding up three fingers to count down.

When he dropped his final finger, Julian leaned out from behind cover and fired three rapid shots directly at Vanessa to suppress her.

Vanessa ducked behind the helicopter's landing skids, returning heavily sustained fire in Julian's direction.

Clara used the brief, chaotic moment to sprint bravely across the open roof and grab the massive fire extinguisher.

Instead of aiming the nozzle at Vanessa, Clara pulled the safety pin and threw the entire heavy tank directly onto the helipad.

Julian instantly shifted his aim and fired a single, perfect shot directly into the pressurized red cylinder.

The heavy tank exploded violently, releasing a massive, blinding cloud of thick white chemical foam into the air.

The dense smoke completely engulfed the helicopter and the surrounding roof, reducing visibility to absolute zero.

Vanessa shrieked in furious panic, firing her assault rifle blindly into the thick, suffocating cloud of white chemicals.

Julian holstered his weapon and charged fearlessly directly into the heart of the blinding smoke screen.

He navigated entirely by memory, relying on the sound of her manic screaming to pinpoint her exact location.

He burst through the foam and aggressively tackled his unhinged bride, knocking the heavy rifle completely out of her manicured hands.
