Chapter 7 - The Final Transfer

Adrian and Martha were thrown into the back of a heavily armored transport truck.
They drove for hours until they reached an abandoned warehouse on the edge of the city.
The mercenaries dragged them inside and forced them onto their knees.
Charles sat in a leather chair in the center of the empty concrete floor.
He held a thick stack of legal documents and a heavy fountain pen.
He explained that the digital transfer failed, so a physical signature was now required.
Charles demanded that Adrian sign over the rights to his true biological family's dynasty.
Adrian spat blood onto the floor and flatly refused to sign the papers.
Charles sighed dramatically and nodded to the lead cartel mercenary.
The heavily armed man racked the slide of his pistol and aimed it at Martha’s head.
Charles stated that Adrian had ten seconds to sign the papers before his beloved nanny died.
Adrian looked at the woman who had burned her own flesh to save his life.
He could not let her die for a company he no longer cared about.
Adrian grabbed the fountain pen and signed his name on the dotted line.
Charles laughed triumphantly, snatching the papers from the concrete floor.
He ordered the mercenary to execute both of them immediately and burn the warehouse.

The mercenary slowly lowered his weapon and turned toward his boss.
He pulled off his tactical mask, revealing the face of Marcus, the security chief Adrian had fought earlier.
