Chapter 4 - The Sister's Blade
Chloe was supposed to be attending a charity gala in Paris.
Instead, she stood in Adrian's office with a gun aimed at his mother.
Adrian dropped his stolen rifle, raising his hands slowly in surrender.
He begged his sister to put the weapon down and walk away.
Chloe laughed bitterly, her eyes filled with years of hidden jealousy.
She confessed that she had helped Charles orchestrate the hostile takeover.
She hated Adrian because their father had left the entire company to an adopted orphan.
Martha pleaded with the young woman, promising they would leave the city forever.
Chloe ignored the desperate mother and forced Adrian toward his computer terminal.
She ordered him to initiate a full transfer of his controlling shares into her private account.
Adrian hesitated, looking for any possible way to disarm her.
Chloe pressed the barrel of her gun against Martha’s scarred temple.
She cocked the hammer, warning Adrian that she would count to three.
Adrian quickly typed his override password into the banking terminal.
He placed his thumb on the biometric scanner to authorize the transfer.
But Adrian did not transfer the shares to his treacherous sister.
He initiated the Archangel Protocol, wiping every server in the building permanently.
