Daniel realized instantly that Nathan had successfully hacked his core security server.
He remained completely calm, knowing he had hidden a physical override key behind a priceless painting in the hallway.
He smashed the heavy wooden frame and inserted the brass key just as armed mercenaries turned the corner.
The heavy steel door slid shut with a deafening screech, successfully blocking a hail of deadly bullets.
Inside the reinforced panic room, they were temporarily safe from the violent assault.
Daniel quickly booted up the internal monitors to check the external security cameras.
He watched in horror as Nathan directed his men to set up heavy thermal cutting gear right outside the steel door.
Lily woke up and began to cry, completely terrified by the loud, mechanical screaming of the cutting torches.
