Chapter 3 - The Lockdown

The massive steel gates locked with a heavy mechanical clank.
Every exterior security light around the estate instantly went dark.
Vincent realized the internal security network had been completely hijacked.
Frank laughed weakly from the ground.
He told Vincent that the Chicago syndicate had finally voted to replace him.
Vincent drew his pistol and aimed it directly at Frank's chest.
He asked how many men were already inside the perimeter.
Frank refused to answer, choosing instead to close his eyes and accept his fate.
Vincent pulled the trigger once.
The gunshot echoed loudly over the crackling flames of the destroyed SUV.
Dominic rushed to Vincent's side, his own weapon drawn and ready.
He reported that all cellular signals in the area were being actively jammed.
They were completely cut off from the outside world.
Vincent turned and ran back into the smoky foyer of the mansion.
Alina was holding Mia, her eyes wide with absolute terror.
Vincent told her they needed to reach the panic room beneath the library immediately.
They moved quickly through the dark, opulent hallways of the estate.
The power suddenly cut out entirely, plunging the massive house into pitch blackness.
Dominic clicked on his flashlight, keeping the beam aimed low to avoid drawing attention.
They heard the distinct sound of shattering glass from the kitchen wing.
Multiple heavy footsteps began to echo across the hardwood floors.
The hit squad had successfully breached the mansion.

Vincent gestured for Alina to stay behind a heavy velvet curtain.
A tactical laser sight suddenly pierced the darkness, painting a red dot directly on Dominic's chest.
