Chapter 6 - The Siege

The deafening explosion at the main gates sent a massive shockwave ripping through the quiet estate.
The piercing, high-pitched scream of the security alarms instantly shattered the peaceful night air.
Alessandro instinctively threw his body completely over Sophia and Emma as a shower of shattered glass rained down from the guest house windows.
He pulled them forcefully down to the hardwood floor, shielding them with his own broad back.
“Victor! Status report immediately!” Alessandro yelled into his secure, encrypted radio earpiece.
“They breached the main gate with heavy C4 explosives, Boss!” Victor shouted over the deafening sound of automatic gunfire.
“It is a massive, coordinated assault! At least fifty heavily armed Falcone mercenaries are flooding the grounds!”
Alessandro knew his elite security team was highly trained, but they were severely outnumbered by this sudden, brutal ambush.
He grabbed Sophia by the arm and forcefully dragged her toward the hidden trapdoor in the guest house floor.
Every single building on the Moretti estate was secretly connected by a network of underground maintenance tunnels.
“Take Emma down the ladder and do not stop running until you reach the boathouse,” he commanded urgently.
Sophia hesitated, her hands trembling violently as she held her terrified daughter tightly against her chest.
“What about you?” she asked, her voice cracking with genuine, unexpected concern for the ruthless mafia boss.
“I am going to buy you enough time to escape,” he replied coldly, drawing his heavy customized pistol.
He shoved them gently into the dark tunnel and slammed the heavy wooden trapdoor shut, locking it securely from the top.
Alessandro kicked open the front door of the guest house and stepped boldly out into the chaotic, violent night.
The beautiful, manicured lawns of his estate had entirely transformed into a brutal, terrifying warzone.
Tracer bullets lit up the dark sky like deadly fireworks as his loyal guards fought desperately to hold the perimeter.
He moved with the lethal, practiced grace of an apex predator, completely flanking three Falcone mercenaries hiding behind a marble fountain.
He eliminated all three men with three precise, utterly silent shots to their heads.
He sprinted aggressively toward the main mansion, dodging heavy crossfire that shattered the ancient stone statues around him.
He desperately needed to reach the secure east wing suite to extract Isabella before the mercenaries found her.
He burst through the heavy mahogany side doors and fought his way violently up the grand marble staircase.
He reached the secure suite only to find the heavy oak door completely blown off its steel hinges.
The two loyal guards he had posted outside were lying dead on the expensive Persian rug.
He rushed into the ruined room, his weapon raised and completely ready to fire at anything that moved.
The room was completely empty, and the large glass window leading to the balcony was entirely shattered.
Isabella was gone, either kidnapped again by Falcone’s men or escaping entirely on her own.
Alessandro’s radio earpiece suddenly crackled with a frantic, terrified transmission from Victor.
“Boss! We lost the main house! They are pushing us back toward the docks!” Victor yelled.
Alessandro realized with absolute horror that the docks were exactly where he had just sent Sophia and Emma to hide.
He sprinted back down the stairs, completely ignoring the burning pain of a grazing bullet wound on his shoulder.

He burst out the back doors and ran desperately toward the dark, turbulent waters of the Long Island Sound.
He reached the boathouse just in time to see a massive Falcone mercenary dragging a screaming Sophia out by her hair.
