Chapter 6 - The Ghost in the House
I sneaked back into my own mansion through the old servant tunnels.
The loud music and careless laughter echoed through the floorboards above me.
I crept quietly through the dark shadows of the main hallway.
I peeked around the corner and saw Vanessa drinking expensive champagne.
She was standing with a massive, heavily armed security guard.
I leaned closer to listen to their hushed conversation.
Vanessa angrily demanded to know if the housekeeper was finally dead.
The guard assured her that Maria was tied up tightly in the abandoned boathouse.
He promised that the problem would be permanently solved by midnight.
My blood ran ice cold when I heard his next sentence.
The guard laughed and mentioned that the little girl was quite a fighter.
